Tasted blind, straight from the nose we could tell this was from South Africa. Wine was garnet red with some slight browning on the edges. Nose was a classic SA wine, a little dirty and some light grilled meat with a little green pepper. The interesting part was subtle undertones of perfume. Moderate tannins (6/10) with some light sediment in the glass, moderate body and moderate plus finish. Definitely more rustic on the palate with some earthy and vegetal notes. An absolutely great South African wine! Drink till 2020. — 10 years ago

Soft and fruity — 12 years ago
Sitting in the garden on a nice and warm summer evening with a temperature of 24C (hot for the UK 😊) this is a solid wine to help time pass pleasurably.
Dark fruit aroma that has a medium/strong tannin benefitting from its 14 months' in French oak barrels, it delivers a punchy cherry, spice and hint of tobacco flavour and taste.
Decanted for 2 hours-plus this smoothes out nicely from the first glass straight out the bottle.
The 14% alcohol makes this fun as you can feel it grabbing you from the first sip/gulp.

Soft, slightly woody, very agreeable. — 7 years ago
Nice smell, which is slightly tangy. Smells like a mixture between granadilla and pineapple with a bit of cut grass. It's tastes buttery on the tongue with a hint of fruity. — 8 years ago

Light and floral - explosion of fruit. However on the dry side and easy drinking.
