Very barolo. Tar and rose on the nose, black cherry and good tannin structure in your gob. Not lengthy or particularly complex in its development, but a good whiff of cannubi at not a mental price. — 8 years ago

Beautiful color. Nice acid and full leather could probably hold another 5 years but with a little air it is beautiful! — 10 years ago
Really clean with ethereal fruit. Unbelievable for 1964. — 11 years ago
High tannins and acidity. Earthy. Needed to be decanted hours before drinking. Lovely pairing with dark chocolate strawberries. — 11 years ago

1998: Youthful. Broad on the palette, with tannins not far behind. This is the Barolo for CA Cab lovers, with a chewy, dense mouthfeel, yet packed with fruit and tasting brand new, rather than 17 years old. Also poured at Quince for white truffle menu. While not showing the same level of complexity as the 1971 or 1985 at the same meal, it was roundly admired, and preferred by some. — 10 years ago
Opened up very nicely — 11 years ago
The 2008 Fratelli Serio and Battista Borgogno Nebbiolo d'Alba is a really tasty treat. 100% Nebbiolo, mainly from Diano D'Alba, it has a pretty ruby color and a nice smoky aroma. You'll get a mouthful of spice and raspberries upon tasting it. Definitely fruitier than most of the classic Piedmont varietals, this wine still obviously has years to mature and turn into something really special. — 11 years ago
Very nice, rounded, balanced acidity, good packaging, label, good wine but very expensive $25.00 8/10 — 13 years ago

Old Nebbiolo nose with sour cherry on palate for first two hours, then rose and red fruit for next hour, then as it was just hitting its stride it was gone - we finished it. Next time need to be more patient, if I’m lucky enough for a next time. Purchased from Walker Wines who has great old Nebbiolo offerings. — 6 years ago
