This was really interesting. Floral. On skins for a year is what I think I heard. But light in color. — 7 years ago
Outstanding aged Navarra. Ready to drink now. Earthy raisin notes, but holding on to the right amount of smooth acidity. 70% Tempranillo, 30% Cab, 13.5% alc #garagiste — 9 years ago

2008 was an outstanding vintage in Rioja, hence the 'Honoratus' mention on the label. 100% Viura from old vines in 'El Villar', Rioja Alavesa, Spain. 50% fermented in French and American oak. A developing white wine with a lot of life and love in the wine making process — 10 years ago
Vintage 2014 seville orange little spritz very dry and a hint of bitter at back when first opened up. Less bitter after ten minutes. — 10 years ago
Color rubio intenso. Aroma frutos rojos. De medio cuerpo, redondo. — 6 years ago
Blue and black fruit with sweet spices, ash, and menthol. Definitely decant! — 8 years ago

Frankincense and myrrh, I feel like I am in a manger scene hanging out with some kings. Toast, roasted wood and oaky aromas open up to spice seasoning with a lashing of salt and acidity. Made in a solera style from multiple vintages this is a unique wine in every way. A heady Viura Rioja blanco experience, I highly recommend it. #newschoolrioja — 9 years ago
Got this to go with homemade steak tacos - delicious! Full-bodied, but not heavy; on the dry side, but flavorful. — 10 years ago

Can really an organically farmed and biodynamic - single vineyard Rioja costs just 17$ on the shelves? Well, yes and is so unforgettable delicious. Notes of clove and tobacco pipe combined with juicy red fruit. Tannin are somehow chalky. acidity is medium+. 100% sourced from cool climate -high altitude vineyards in El Villar, Rioja Alavesa — 8 years ago

My go-to red for every day pleasure — 10 years ago
Unexpectedly good and delicious wine and very good price as daily wines. A little dark purple color. And ripe red berry's nose and taste. About 30min glass breathing made me very happy. — 10 years ago

Not your typical California or French Rose, but $14.00 on sale it works
Definitely will decant my 2nd bottling
Winery Notes,
Honorío Rubio is a Riojano white and rosé specialist. In a land best known for its incredibly age-worthy reds, among many die-hards out there it is undoubtedly the traditional whites which represent Rioja's finest and most original wines. We would add as well the barrel aged rosés, which are incredibly rare (Lopez de Heredia's has not been available for over 5 years, and we hear that they will finally have a little bit of the next release, 2008, in 2018!) Honorío makes an absolutely killer rosé, from some of his oldest Viura and Garnacha, briefly macerated and co-fermented, then aged 16 months in used barrels (which previously held his Lias Finas white wine). An inimitable, rich and bright, incredibly food friendly style of rosé. — 6 years ago
