One of my favorite vintners. Lots of good acids and bitey tannins. Some leather, raspberry and cherry, brambles, black pepper, touch of graphite? From Big Nose Full Body. 04/12/25 — 6 months ago
Wonderful Italian wine with dinner — 7 months ago
2020 vintage. A fave CA chard and producer. Medium-medium heavy body. Tasting slightly more tropical and advanced with less acidity than usual. Still absolutely delicious tho. Would like to retaste and reevaluate in 5-6 months tho. Based on 30 vintages of tasting this particular wine, betting it reconciles any tawdry, fleeting concerns that occupy my compromised palate and right quick. 01.22.25. — 9 months ago
Based on day 2. I really enjoyed this as it opened up. Great texture with lemon curd, stone fruit, marzipan and lively acidity. So well balanced. — 10 months ago

Good fruit and acid. — 7 years ago
Paired well with a lamb, eggplant purée, fava beans, piquolo pepper. Would also pair with a medium rare magret duck or other game. — 10 years ago
Very pleasant, soft tannins — 6 months ago
2021 vintage. A bit of everything. Esteemed producer. Excellent nose. Front-palate richness. Mid-palate power and presence. Pleasantly astringent and beyond substantial finish. I usually eschew Barbera d'Alba for the resto list but couldn't deny this one. Picked up two cases and may pick up more to have laying around for 1.5-2 years. At the ridiculous resto price of $26.67, I can't afford not to. So delicious. 01.29.25. — 8 months ago
Absolutely delicious. Light and balanced. — 2 years ago
39.97 from new season. Balanced. Round. Worth the price. Would buy again — 7 years ago
Tried the '90 recently, spoke of how amazing a producer of Californian Cabernet it is, but just needed a little more time, this '85 is well & truly on point, everything is in balance, there's fruit intensity yes, but the development/complexity/layers are really shining through, outstanding stuff. — 9 years ago

Dark and spicy — 4 months ago
Well-made single varietal cabernet grown near Monte Bello. Smooth blackberry and graphite. Round and medium weight mouthfeel. Less complexity given the single varietal but made with finesse. — 5 months ago
This is very elegant & harmonious.
Dark sour cherry with some crushed stone and a pinch of orange peel & herbs. Fresh. Juicy.
On the palate this is very smooth, juicy, with great flow and beautiful balance. The 14.5% alc perfectly integrated.
Nice depth & length, too. — 7 months ago
Delicious. Vibrant, bold, berry flavor with a really great price tag. — 9 months ago
Tons of red and dark fruit. Mainly cherries and a bit of raspberry and spice. — 10 months ago
Medium ruby, primary aromas of red fruit, medium acidity and tannins. Good albeit low QPR — 3 years ago
#lupa couldn't resist a second bottle of this one. Smooth easy to share with can lovers but not too big for me — 9 years ago

2021. Drove to Omaha to attend an Arnot-Roberts wine class and tasting, and got there early to enjoy some delicious oysters with a bottle of fantastic Chardonnay that wasn’t on the tasting list. Unfortunately, Nathan Roberts flights were delayed and the class was cancelled, but we’re going home with a bunch of tasty wines instead! — 3 months ago
