Really good Chateauneuf-du-Pape, word is that 2016 is a legendary vintage and trying this I would say I’ve never experienced such a young wine of this varietal with so much depth and complexity. Great nose, really smooth on the palate and loads of cherry, spice, leather and floral elements with a hint of Pernod style aniseed on the finish. For $45 I think this is outstanding, it has a high alcohol content for French wine so may not be a long termer but it’s great so just enjoy now. — 5 years ago
Pine Orchard, 12/17, $45. Very rich and full bodied. Liked, but like other wines better for similar price. — 6 years ago
Colt 45 works every time. Remember those commercials? https://youtu.be/0pK5HmuCMBM I do. Grand puy Lacoste is my go to Bordeaux. It never disappoints, this one is still a little young but a great pauillac with graphic , dark fruit and just starting to show more complexity. The 2012 is on the market for $50 probably one of the better Cabernet values in the market especially given Napa prices recently. As for this 05, drink now or over the next 20 years — 7 years ago
Tasted blind. Ruby color. Almost opaque. Young fruit forward nose. Notes of plums, mocha, dark chocolate, coffee, cinnamon and some exotic thing like eucalyptus. So rich and vibrant in the mouth. A forever finish. This wine took us in all directions. Immortal. Stan's 60th will always be remembered for the 45 Latour vs 45 Mouton mano y mano battle. A wine life moment for sure. — 7 years ago
Total beast. Did a quick double decant since it's 12 years old but should have let it open for a couple of hours. Eye watering nose of dirt, nutmeg, cinnamon, bramble, and camphor. Massive palate with plenty of fruit and tannin left. 45 second finish. What an awesome cab blend! — 8 years ago

砖红色,需要醒酒45分钟以上,否则有动物的气味。充分醒酒后毫无单宁涩感,有玫瑰香气。均衡度好。香气持久。 — 9 years ago
Needs 45 minute decante. — 10 years ago
The 2016 is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. Deep Ruby with aromas of Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, cigar box spice and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of fresh blackberry and black cherry with cacao, tobacco and complex spice. Youthful firm tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with earthy mineral elegance. Very nice. Tasted ’15 and ’16 side by side, ’16 slightly better, will age well. — 4 years ago
45 min decant. Medium bodied, with earthy nose initially, picked up cherry, cedar notes with time in glass. Soft mellowed tannins & smooth finish. Thanks Pops! 👍 — 5 years ago
Oooo baby. Floral and seductive on the nose. Perfumed; jasmine, lime blossom, lavender, poached pear, candied citrus, nectarine, grapes, sweet herbs, cream, a kiss of honey. Palate starts out with juicy fruit character, then suddenly moves to pith, wet stones, olive, and a savory element that I find in so many Friuli-blends with Ribolla. While grippy and enticing there’s a richness on the mouthfeel that makes this wines feel so classy, very soft approach with the oak here. 45 Malvasia Blanca, Ribolla Gialla 30, 25 Friulano. — 6 years ago

Classic Bordeaux, took about 45 minutes to open. Was full of tobacco, leather, with surprising and slight floral overtone. — 9 years ago
1999 from K&L for $45. Wonderful, smooth and short. — 9 years ago
45+ minute decant. Dark red color. Has that great barnyard nose I love with meat and spice elements too. There is an interesting tartness when it first hits your tongue, which isn’t good or bad, just different and maybe out of place. Nice balance of cherry fruit and smoke. Medium plus finish. I really enjoyed this!! — 5 years ago
2010. A classic Chateauneuf-Du-Pape from a historic vineyard. Needs to breathe at least 45 minutes--could age a little longer. — 6 years ago
My third bottle of this in the past week. There's no question this is one of the best values in all of wine. Ripe plum, soy sauce, sautéed orange peel, with fresh ginger, and seasoned with Old Bay. Lots of grip and needs 45 minutes to an hour to really get going, but after that it's like drinking for free... — 7 years ago
A remarkable wine, a bit like many ‘45’s in its power and concentration. And while those who are after some more of the La Chapelle structure may be disappointed (and I have sympathy with aspects of the assessment), this is such an full expression of fruit and terroir, that I can really only cheer. Plums, orange zest, pepper and currants on the enticing nose. The palate is awash in luscious, sweet fruit, soy tinged, with melting tannins, round and soft, pure velvet past the mid palate, and it finishes with gusto, batons twirling, with layered exuberance and appealing length. — 8 years ago
Dark purple, red ruby.On nose, cedar, plum, minerals, oak, berries, and roast notes. On palate, rounded textures, lush, fine tannins, well aged, elegance wine. Incredible pessac-leognan 2004. 60% Merlot, 35% Cab. Sauvignon, and 5% Cab. Franc. Decant time 45 minutes. Enjoy 🍷 — 8 years ago
A bit of oxidation, but otherwise, just fine. Fruit still there. 1970, 45 year old wine for our 45th Anniversary. — 9 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Tried about 6 mos ago. The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Estate covers an area of 190 hectares, 54 which are vineyards, 4 are olive groves, 87 which are wooded and 45 are planted with new vines. Deep Ruby with a berry fruit aromas blossom and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate cherry & strawberry flavors, with leather, cacao and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine approachable tannins, long ending with spicy oak finish. Nice! — 3 years ago
