Oooo baby. Floral and seductive on the nose. Perfumed; jasmine, lime blossom, lavender, poached pear, candied citrus, nectarine, grapes, sweet herbs, cream, a kiss of honey. Palate starts out with juicy fruit character, then suddenly moves to pith, wet stones, olive, and a savory element that I find in so many Friuli-blends with Ribolla. While grippy and enticing there’s a richness on the mouthfeel that makes this wines feel so classy, very soft approach with the oak here. 45 Malvasia Blanca, Ribolla Gialla 30, 25 Friulano. — 8 years ago
Awesome wine. Way way young. But way way awesome. Classic. Roses and tar for days. Big furry tannins. Juicy and so fresh. Loads of deep bright cherry fruit. Amazingly long. Huge acids. I’d revisit in 10 years. — 8 years ago
Tasted blind. Ruby color. Almost opaque. Young fruit forward nose. Notes of plums, mocha, dark chocolate, coffee, cinnamon and some exotic thing like eucalyptus. So rich and vibrant in the mouth. A forever finish. This wine took us in all directions. Immortal. Stan's 60th will always be remembered for the 45 Latour vs 45 Mouton mano y mano battle. A wine life moment for sure. — 9 years ago

Another trip around the sun, another “66 Bordeaux. This time it was the Cos d’Estournel. Clearly the best of the “66 vintage I have tasted over the last several years on my birthday. It started with salami and spice on the nose. Mid palate it morphed into this lovely soft earthy red fruit and finished with leather and spice. No hint of the typical Cos pencil lead. This wine still had depth and character. I was surprised by the richness and depth of color. It started to fade after about 45 minutes but wow, were those minutes an amazing wine experience. — 5 years ago
Pine Orchard, 12/17, $45. Very rich and full bodied. Liked, but like other wines better for similar price. — 8 years ago
Colt 45 works every time. Remember those commercials? https://youtu.be/0pK5HmuCMBM I do. Grand puy Lacoste is my go to Bordeaux. It never disappoints, this one is still a little young but a great pauillac with graphic , dark fruit and just starting to show more complexity. The 2012 is on the market for $50 probably one of the better Cabernet values in the market especially given Napa prices recently. As for this 05, drink now or over the next 20 years — 8 years ago

Dark purple, red ruby.On nose, cedar, plum, minerals, oak, berries, and roast notes. On palate, rounded textures, lush, fine tannins, well aged, elegance wine. Incredible pessac-leognan 2004. 60% Merlot, 35% Cab. Sauvignon, and 5% Cab. Franc. Decant time 45 minutes. Enjoy 🍷 — 10 years ago
A bit of oxidation, but otherwise, just fine. Fruit still there. 1970, 45 year old wine for our 45th Anniversary. — 10 years ago

The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Estate covers an area of 190 hectares, 54 which are vineyards, 4 are olive groves, 87 which are wooded and 45 are planted with new vines. Deep Ruby with a berry fruit aromas blossom and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate cherry & strawberry flavors, with leather, cacao and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine approachable tannins, long ending with spicy oak finish. — 6 years ago

Great balance once it opened up. Inky with a ruby rim in the glass.
After loosening up, the fruity with high alcohol, structure and layered flavors mingled in and rolled over each other beautifully. . Leaning toward glycerol of dark fruit, spices and earthiness. Brighter in the nose w/ raspberry and strawberry syrup. On the pallet more boysenberry and blackberry pie and slickness but nice oaky structure, so never too sweet. Big , dense, w/bold flavors are surprisingly balanced.
Lots of alcohol up front, but opens up and settles in beautifully with just 30 minutes decanted. Would be great over the next decade.
An excellent value at $45-$50, could’ve been $80. — 8 years ago
2010. A classic Chateauneuf-Du-Pape from a historic vineyard. Needs to breathe at least 45 minutes--could age a little longer. — 8 years ago
As it says on the label "un fino que va para amontillado" — 9 years ago
Total beast. Did a quick double decant since it's 12 years old but should have let it open for a couple of hours. Eye watering nose of dirt, nutmeg, cinnamon, bramble, and camphor. Massive palate with plenty of fruit and tannin left. 45 second finish. What an awesome cab blend! — 9 years ago

砖红色,需要醒酒45分钟以上,否则有动物的气味。充分醒酒后毫无单宁涩感,有玫瑰香气。均衡度好。香气持久。 — 11 years ago
Needs 45 minute decante. — 12 years ago

45+ decant but needed closer to 2 hours. Dark purple in color. Nose was all over the place - US, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy. Wine had minimal fruit, plenty of wood, and lots of Portuguese elements. Would have guessed California or Portugal if having blind. Depth was medium as well as the finish. Ample tannins. Expected more from the label and vintage. — 5 years ago
