Both juicy and zesty. Nice acidity to balance the red and black fruit. Super value for $22, and great w/BBQ chicken. — 12 years ago

Decanted for a couple of hours. Intense color, completely opaque almost like ink. The nose was incredibly complex, with roasted meat, dark fruit and balsamic notes. I could just sniff my glass for hours. Very dense and heavy on the palate, yet very complex and intense. The dark fruit was coating the palate, and the overall feeling was that it looked and felt like motor oil (in a positive way!). This a fascinating wine, unapologetically extracted and Californian. This wine is an experience not to be missed. Enthralling.

Red fruit on the nose. Black cherry, raspberry on the palate. Opened 12 hours ago. Balanced, but still very young. Give it more time in the cellar. — 12 years ago
