Paired with mushroom dishes this wine is divine! I rated this same wine about a year and a half ago at 88 pts. Either the passage of time or the food pairing changed my impression. At recent wine pairing dinners that I hosted, guests raved about this wine when paired with mushroom risotto and creamy mushroom soup. — 8 years ago
Le Pich is the Wappo Indian term for "golden eagle," and this wild birds wingspan is massive. It will come in fast and hard and treat you like a helpless mouse in the field and swoop you up into the sky in its grape soaked talons. But then, what a ride once it opens up! "Nice eagle", you say..."take me to your nest and do what you do." It's like getting punched in the face followed by a tantric massage. This is the stuff of awesomeness. — 8 years ago

Pear, stone, oak, more spring than autumn. A breezy spring day with a few dry leaves still blowing down the walkway. Buds on the branches. Glad I'm wearing a sweater. Here comes the sun. Another sip... take a deep clean breath. The grille comes out of the shed for that lovely white fleshed fish with lemon and olive oil. Crusty bread. Asparagus. Jazz or just the birds? Me humming? — 9 years ago
Forget "leger passage en carafe," I just put my thumb over the opening and gave it a good shake to de-gas and it was an amazing guzzle accompanying a kind of asiatic boeuf bourgignon and boston lettuce in pomegranate-yoghurt dressing. Look no further when eating salty meaty stews! — 9 years ago
Violet color with kirsch, spice, orange zest and sandalwood aromas. On the palate there is a ample black cherry, blackberry, and raspberry fruit, with a hint of smoked meat wrapped around a firm spine of acidity with an appealing minerality. 78% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 6% Syrah 14.9% alcohol — 9 years ago
Really nice Rose. Reminds me more of a French style. Really impressed. Nice acidity to it. — 7 years ago
Drank after decanting for few hours. Lot of alcohol taste but good with the pork roast we had. This one has lost some of it's fruit. Still solid. — 8 years ago
Smells kind of floral? Not super fruity or syrupy. smooth on tip, tingles on the tongue after. Pretty sharp and dry, not full bodied or very round. Tingles on back of throat and sends a kind of wasabi spice up the nasal passage upon swallowing. Charles says very fine tannins. Overall light but flavorful for sipping — 8 years ago
Am impressive red blend with strong aromas of black currants with a hint of cloves on the nose. A really smooth easy drinking social wine — 9 years ago
Inky and thick in the glass, pure velvet on the tongue, berry muffins and wintergreen on the nose. The weight of the wine is masterfully offset by the undercurrent of acidity and the tannins literally melt through the finish. As mysterious and intense as the bottle it comes from. — 9 years ago
Nice smooth taste. Won in a trivia contest during showing of The Birds, Hitchcock movie locally. Good for dinner wine with beef. — 9 years ago
Some of the purest, most alive fruit I've ever tasted in a wine of any kind. Yet the texture is full and luscious without being simple juicy fruit - the freshness is in its flesh and not just the acidity. When birds eat perfectly ripened grapes right off the vine they're probably experiencing something like this. — 10 years ago
Absolutely brilliant. This is one of the best grenaches I’ve had in a long time. Incredible aromas of plumbs, blackberries, candied blueberries, along with hints of cinnamon and clove. The palate is absolutely stunning: seamless evolution of fruit coupled with perfectly intergrated sweet tannins leading to a finish that goes on for over a minute. I have no idea if this will improve with more time in the cellar, but I have no idea why you would wait: this is unreal. Manfred Krankle is a GOD!!! 👍 — 7 years ago

Grabbed another bottle! Wine bears the vineyard named to honor the Red-shouldered Hawks and other birds of prey that play a vital role in sustainable farming practices. Bright yellow with aromas of tropical fruits and sweet floral scents. Aged for 14 months, 75% in new French oak and 25% in stainless. On the palate melon, pineapple and peach flavors and hints of citrus, subtle yet complex and well balanced. Lingering finish, savory, ending with mineral tones and toasty oak. Outstanding! — 8 years ago
@delectable This is a Texan, not a Californian; Texas High Plains AVA to be exact. I'm speechless after this effort... insane character and uniqueness. Has it's own definitive style without losing the soul of Sauvignon Blanc. This is straight up radiating with energy.
My girl wanted in on this review. She's got a way with words that is one in a million 😜 So, here is our combined effort:
"Now featuring: The Green Elixir. Wisps of kiwi swiftly enter the nasal passage on command. Over-ripened sweet cantaloupe charges through leaping over fresh Bosc pears. Similar to walking through a field of freshly cut grass on a midsummer Sunday morning. Upon walking through the renewed grass, you will come across loamy soil, enveloped with sandy silt. Dandelions magically pop up along the adventurous route dancing lazily in the breeze.
Taste consistently bathes, not lingers, but bathes on the palate. Anyone ever kiss a lime rind? Experience it now with The Green Elixir. Sour, yet makes you yearn for more. Granny Smith apples frolic throughout the tastebuds. Heading towards the end of our adventure, straw begins to make an appearance and wants to join in the fun. At the peak of the completion of our endeavor, a special herb comes out to play. Lemon Basil pleasantly surprises you to make sure your finale is more than grand.
*Medium-plus acidity and Medium-minus body

This one shouts Syrah far more than Merlot. I really like it. Lame-ish branding hides the quality. — 9 years ago

Saccoletto is an italian vigneron that makes really interesting wines for an educated palate .He follows a natural wine making Style starting from how The vines are grown. This is his top barbera, a dry, strong, straight forward, aged in barrique of 2/3 passage. It reminds me a Lot of The top wines from Braida ( They are located in The same geographic area ) for complexity And deepness though it lacks a bit of those wines elegance (its Way cheaper by The Way ).scents of ripened fruits, plums, Black berries, leather, a faint scent of herbs. Full body , perfect for meats And main dishes Meat based. — 10 years ago

Is it possible to drink a cloud? A perfumed nose of honey and hints of caramel that never overpower but instead tickles your nasal passage . You feel it enter you mouth but instead of exploding it just expands and covers your tastebuds with incredible freshness that defies its age. Honey, apricot , salt and that chenin wax appear in a flotilla of flavors . — 7 years ago
