To me Shafer is among the worlds best wineries. Aged 32 months in 100% new French oak. Vivid deep purple color, and outstanding aromas of red/black fruits, cherries and blackberries, with hints of cedar, floral oak & spice. Tasting this wine was absolutely magnificent, concentrated dark berry fruit flavors, spices, leather and oak, exploding on my palate. Soft velvety subtle tannins provide a nice deep lingering finish. Truly an outstanding Cab, one of the best. If you can find yourself a bottle, do not hesitate. Should last at least 10 more yrs. — 7 years ago

One of the single best California Cabs I have ever had — 13 years ago
Had an op to re-buy at $115 and wanted to check in on the 2006. What a nice rendition. Perhaps not the best vintage overall, but in really great shape right now with the typical tobacco aromas. Needless to say, I am buying more — 5 years ago
Rioja alta’s best!!! — 6 years ago
This was the best Cabernet I have ever had! It was very smooth and had great body to it. — 9 years ago
Perfectly balanced, well integrated, and pairs best with good conversation. Even for an Italian, this Tempranillo gives any Nebbiolo a run for its money. — 11 years ago
I think the 2013 will be the Best Yet from Belle Glos! It needed a little time to open up, But is is a Beauty! Loaded with Fruit, great Balance and Acidity. This is a Winner! I give this a 96 + Rating. It will not disappoint anyone. It's 6pk time here.. Bravo! CB — 12 years ago
This makes me a happy girl! One of my best friends. — 14 years ago
So yummy that it would best with less of a chill than most. Ripe cherries and cedar, structured — 6 years ago
As the summer is slipping out of our hands, its time to to pop those complex reds that we’ve been lastning for. Produttori del Barbaresco is considered one of the best cooperatives in the world and its 2016 Barbaresco is a solid proof of that statement.
Restrained at first and needs a couple of hours in the decanter to reach its climax. True to its provenance its clasically crafted, and puts up complex profile of red cherries, rose hip, strawberries, spice, bitter orange and a volatile dried floral lift over a canvas of wet soil.
An offensive approach on the palate with a high acidity and a generous portion of mouth coating tannins that is well accompanied by a pronounced fruit profile with an evolving finish. Very good indeed, but is a couple of level behind to reach the higher tiers. — 6 years ago
This is just a delicious brut rosé, really one of the best out there that isn’t four figures...beautiful fruit that melts on your tongue, just excellent — 7 years ago
Tasted blind. Reddish tawny, translucent and old looking. Awesome nose. Notes of leather saddle, pencil lead, currants, cherry, soil, and some toasted hickory. All guessed 61 Bordeaux. This got better through the night and was at its best in the last glass. — 8 years ago
Ridge Wine Dinner. Almost opaque. Flamboyant nose with notes of black cherry, blueberry, light smoke and walnuts. Still primary. Great finish with perfect balance of fruit, structure and acidity. For me this was the best of the 95/05/12 MB lineup. Needs time. — 9 years ago
Best Bordeaux I’ve ever had — 11 years ago
It's my birthday, let's celebrate with the best! — 11 years ago

Fine intensity of developed aromas with a defined ripe and autolytic complexity. Primary red apples, raspberries, lemon and orange fruit drops, secondary aromas of nougat, hazelnuts, butter, toast and a chalky, oyster shell minerality.
High acidity, medium - body. A creamy, peristant mousse and linear acidity drives the palate. Intense presence on the mid palate with characters of red apples, fruit drops, coffee beans and chalk. Medium + lenght finish that lacks some dimension and lenght to compete with the best. — 5 years ago
