Very nice dark bramble fruit, and nice finish — 10 years ago
Smells a little like cotton candy and exhibits notes of cedar, clove, prune, cherry, red rose, eucalyptus with perceivable mint-traits. In another dimension this may be a cousin of Heitz's Martha's Vineyard. Awesome to have with bbq'd steak, garlic bread and knowing this is the only winery for this AVA ( just 20 miles south of where I got to imbibe this 400 case production of local goodness. ) — 10 years ago
Right out of the bottle faint post rain rock, moss, and leather first pour nose showing deep red front-mouth fruit with youthful tannins that will coax your tongue to the roof of your mouth and groovy acid slowing things down letting the moment linger, penetrate, and compliment the amazing meatballs served up by Ben Barker (of Magnolia Grill Durham) at his son's amazing new pizzeria, in Carrboro, NC (do not miss!!)
More on this wine soon, but @13% alcohol and low $s, it's good stuff for sure! — 10 years ago

Very akin to the warm santa inez sunshine - pleasant and bright on the pallet, but somewhat lacking depth and complexity. Cherry and tobacco — 10 years ago
Should have aged this wine for a decade. Forest and ocean mist, limestone quality to the tannin structure. Excellent wine. — 10 years ago
A huge surprise on the upside. All the appropriate Cabernet descriptors plus Rich, concentrated, long and satisfying with notes of mint, cassis and dark chocolate. 50 year old vines from Langhorne Creek contributing to the richness. Turned 10 years old as of a few hours ago. — 10 years ago
Bright candied cherry, coriander, sandalwood, five spice, black pepper. Vibrant and fruit driven. Ben Cane getting it done in 2012. — 11 years ago

Yes again. Love this. Everyday swill! — 11 years ago
20 year old magnum. Lots of fruit, we'll aged, mild tannins, nice must that softened over the evening. At Ben and Dianne's with Kyle, Carole and Diane G. — 11 years ago
For kosher it's great. — 13 years ago
Nice dark red color, aromas of cherry, herbs and creme se cassis. Smooth- niche blend of Cab and Shiraz. — 9 years ago
Wow. Was kind of expecting this to be a bit further down the hill, but what a great surprise. Definitely in the “drink now” category, this is an absolutely classic example of what Duckhorn has done so well over the years: making interesting, layered, terrific merlots. No doubt due in part to attention to detail (check out that 15-year-old cork!), this wine has a degree of liveliness on the palate that I never expected given this wine’s age (and after an hour this is still going strong). I haven’t had a Duckhorn wine from a vintage more recent than a decade ago, but if they’re still making wine like this...wow. — 9 years ago

Monthly WTF wine group. Special event this month as Ben provided all ‘80s Napa cabs. A few of us chipped in and provided some whites/bubbly.
Toasted Graham cracker, cassis, and even some old cedar wood. Structure was still in tact and young tasting. — 8 years ago
