Green apple, white flowers, lime zest, granite minerality, green pear, pineapple juice. Rich mouthfeel full of salinity. — 5 years ago
This is last of my 2010-2012 vertical tasting. Dark Ruby (not as dark as ‘10 & ‘11) of this Second Growth Bordeaux. A difficult year but Henri Lurton did a great job creating a wonderful wine. A complex nose of ripe dark fruits and tobacco notes. Palate displays blackberry & ripe cherry, gentle espresso and oak with soft tannins that is great to drink now with some aging potential. Awesome balance. Feels and tastes Bordeaux. Red fruits, dried dark fruits, tobacco, dried herbs. Quite interesting notes of mint. Medium high integrated acidity. Semi full bodied w/ hints of oak. But not distinctive, as it osften is in Cali wines.
Medium finish.

Espectacular, compota de frutos rojos, chocolate, muy equilibrado y con mucha vida por delante. Esta botella no.😉 — 6 years ago
Very light for a Bordeaux even with age. Paired nicely with a smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving. — 7 years ago
Degustando um bom vinho com meu maridão e meus tios queridos: tio Aloísio e tia Margarida. — 7 years ago
Very fruit forward. Raspberry and mint with earthy herbals after. Medium tannin and fill bodied. Nose is heavy on Cabernet, almost like a Napa. Plums, graphite, and even salt on the nose? Very good. — 8 years ago
Mid to Deep Crimson in colour. Aromas of menthol, tobacco and ash notes together with black tea and after an hour in the decanter- violets. Not often one has a Cabernet Franc of this quality made in Australia. Made at The Islander on Kangaroo Island which is owned by Jacques Lurton and family, owner of Chateau Cheval Blanc so they know a bit about Cab Franc!! Jancis Robinson describes Cheval Blanc as “the world’s grandest Cabernet Franc dominated wine” Visited The Islander there 4 years ago and had a tour with the Colorado winemaker. A semi-maritime climate - very dry so that a limited need for pesticides. In summary a very polished wine and the best Cab Franc I’ve had outside the Right Bank or Loire Valley. — 4 years ago

Exibiu notas de jasmim, limão siciliano e um toque defumado. Corpo médio, com bom frescor e final persistente. — 7 years ago
Very big nose and medium body, I thought this 2006 was very good, the cork crumbled when i was trying to get it out, still a good bottle — 7 years ago
