Excellent value from a great producer. Deep and earthy, bit more full bodied than you might expect. Aromatic and mouth filling with a long finish. Excellent choice from the somm at Blue Hill Stone Barns. — 7 years ago

With the context of Virginia as the terroir for cab sav, this is a winner. Chocolate and Caramel swirl in a sturdy full-bodied offering made by Michael Shaps with grapes from Monticello AVA. Acidity and tannins are reasonable enough to balance with black, fruit forward for design. what makes this a complete wine and worthy of accumulation is the long satisfying finish. Yummy! — 7 years ago
We Aussies are rightly proud of our Shiraz and Shiraz blends but we have to take our hat off for a wine like this. An exercise in perfectly executed restraint. Some spice and a hint of pepper. Medium bodied. Notes made a few days later. A brilliant wine from Blue Hill at Stone Barns. 2006 vintage. — 8 years ago

Bright red fruits, fresh cracked pepper, woodsy, earthy, delicious cab franc. Juicy and fresh but the earthiness keeps it grounded. Very balanced. — 6 years ago
Very nice auslese from Prum. Nearly 10 years of age and this is showing well. Restrained with just a hint of sweetness. Excellent pairing with a variety of early courses at Blue Hill Stone Barns. — 7 years ago
