More Reserved and old world style of RRV Chardonnay than the opulent and butter driven styles we’ve come to expect. Best on day 2 and 3. — 6 years ago
Very bright. Great everyday white. — 7 years ago
Mon dieu! This wine has an incredibly mineral-flushed nose, almost minty from all the whetstony chloride-alkaline minerals! Light ruby slightly hazy in color; medium-high acids and fine tannins, red fruit-dominated and perhaps a bit disappointing on the finish. Try in 3-5 years?! Excellent value at 10 USD for a half bottle! — 7 years ago
Pleasant red blend from Texas! Dark red fruit, mildly tannic, smooth and easy. — 8 years ago

Pretty serious wine, the prettiness almost overshadowed by a ramrod-straight backbone of acidity. Probably meat-friendly with the right preparation? — 9 years ago

Reminiscent of good quality Chambolle with a touch more flesh and pliancy. This is stupid good for the price, when I’m old I’ll be bitching about how cheap this was back in the day. High toned, crunchy, deeply earthy and loaded with ripe red/black fruit. The finesse is there. Black cherry, wild strawberry, rhubarb compote, black tea, wildflowers, wet leaves, undergrowth, spice. Again, the elegance coupled with the perfume and harmony this carries really delivers. — 7 years ago
Delicious, delicate and earthy with notes of dried red cherries, violets, baking spice and forest floor — 8 years ago

Visiting Fredericksburg TX for a few days. This is TX hill country and has a big winery community. Never tried any TX wines before but found a few surprises here. We tasted at Becker earlier today but not this wine. $30 on the restaurant wine list. Becker wasn’t our favorite stop but it is the only local winery represented on their list. Overall local wines seemed overpriced compared to CA wines. Just realized we had an older vintage (2018) on our last trip from Houston to Anaheim. It’s interesting that most of the grapes used in the local wines come from Lubbock (panhandle) area. Don’t know where these grapes came from, or what varietals are present. — 5 years ago
