Black pepper aromas. Lots of acidity, mild tannins in the finish. Went nicely with pasta & meatballs. Could use a few more years of bottle age. — 12 years ago
Lots going on here, all of it good1 — 12 years ago
A #magnummonday find at Nopa, this showed an awesomely expressive nose of crunchy red and dark berries and fresh flowers but also tons of delicious savoriness--black pepper, cinnamon, and savory potpourri. The palate was fresh with lots of fine tannins and plenty of lift to bring it all together. With food an awesome cranberry jam note emerged. Checking in...I still have heart burn from all of the acid. Nails. — 11 years ago
Wow! One of the better 2011s I've tried. Very smooth and a great nose, yet can lay down for years to come. Well done Aaron! — 12 years ago

From the opening of the bottle & the immense aroma hugging the cork I became overwhelmed with excitement.
The initial hints lingering on the nose were oak, chocolate, dark berries & plums.
Visually, the glass is filled with dark red, black centered tones that shine like a newly discovered jewel.
Additional scents of vanilla & earthy spices massage the senses. The first tingling sensations of liquid touch the lips, tongue, the fleshy contours of the mouth are overtaken with a dry fruity essence that quickly morphs into an earth laden outpouring of heavy tannins, dark, slightly bitter fruits and leathery substances of ancient lands.
This wine is a journey that proposes questions and forces you to analyze your experience & pushes your senses to evolve with each sip.
