Now that I've finished basking in its afterglow I think I'll jot down a few notes...
90% Sangiovese, 7% Canaiolo, 3% Colorino. It opens to red fruits, rich chocolate, and charcoal. Surprisingly soft tannins gently welcome me into flavors of dark cherry, under- ripe plum, and anise. As it leaves with a swift kiss of mineral and thyme, I'm left longing for a bit more. — 10 years ago
A delight to pull this out of Sunday's picnic basket. Cashmere smooth. An instant hit. It's a negotiant's Pauillac & made to please in a fruit-rich modern style. While not immense in its complexity, it is a Pauillac & what it does, it does very well. A joyful bouquet...basking in ripe fruit--cherries, plums, raspberries...each taking their turn. Savors of dark cherry & plum with a pleasant, mild peppery finish. I could sip this all day. So perfect for a relaxed afternoon picnic...perhaps even too good. :) — 10 years ago
Pears, lemon, maybe some line, and a big dose of asphalt. Just a touch of salinity and minerality. Best drunk out of a brown paper bag, basking in the sun of Narragansett beach. — 10 years ago
Perfumed with a mild spice, like a tea rose basking in the mid-afternoon sun. Cranberries add to the roundness and brightness. Very approachable and enjoyable, with some fine nuances. — 10 years ago
Smooth Gewürztraminer, and more on the sweet side. Had it while on a deck, basking in the sun, and worked great for that. — 11 years ago

California Syrah basking in its simplicity and humble character. Table wine material thankfully...not overpowering at all. — 10 years ago
