One of the best examples of this varietal in the states. Excellent depth and length. #wbc18 — 6 years ago

First sip had me worried something was wrong with the bottle. I set the glass aside and an hour later saw Griffin sipping it. I told him I thought it was bad, he told me I had a bad palate. So I tried again and it was like a completely different wine. Amazing transformation- dark fruits, even better on day 2. — 6 years ago
Had at Barcelona in South End on my 29th bday with Ian, Portia and Griffin, John, Taylor, Grayson. So good. Bright. Smooth — 7 years ago
It’s an unmitigated joy. As a varietal that’s always called Portugal it’s home- Virginia, as evidenced by this vintage in a series of them each improving by the year- May have become the varietals ‘vacation pied a tere’. And while I’m consistently impressed by the work that Stephen Barnard always seems to bring to the tippy top of its class no matter the blend or varietals therein- once again I’m loving this deep & yet fun-loving cuvée.

So glad I’ve gotten my hubby to start drinking all the wine that has aged over 10 years. We’ve had a few bottles of older wine that didn’t age well but this one is quite good!! — 6 years ago
Wow. Was surprised I liked this as much as I did. Smooth. Dark fruit. Almost a little pepper on the finish. Fantastic. — 7 years ago
