In the nose dominates the aroma of cherrie in liqueur. But in mouth I feel only dark chocolate. Mild tannins. — 8 years ago
Totally agree with the high ratings from others.
Dirt cheap from K&L wines. Dark berries - black currants and blackberries. Plenty of acid. Tons of tannins so decant for a while this wine ROCKS 🌈. High score its very rare to find this kind of quality at this $. 💥 may be 1 in 100. — 9 years ago
Gorgeous Coonawarra, rich and luscious with slight hint of spice and nice tannin structure followed by decent dark fruits. — 9 years ago
Dark black fruit with good level of minerality. Opulent and silky tannis. Still got lots of time to go — 9 years ago
Surprisingly lively with hints of pencil shavings, graphite and black current undertones — 10 years ago
One of the most interesting cabs ever not over extracted like some Napa cabs it unique I tasted the coonwarra terrior multiple times lacked tannins — 10 years ago
Towards the end of drinkable life. Pleasantly surprised by how much fruit was left. Great texture. — 10 years ago
Ripper of a wine, deep complexity needs 20 years! — 11 years ago
Another awesome drop from the home of Alan Nelson. — 11 years ago
JP cracked this bad boy out of the Casa Muscat wine cellar. — 13 years ago
Very smooth. Fresh green pepper. Notes of black pepper and currant. Good legs — 8 years ago
Notes of dusty mulberries and blackberries - also olive. A beautiful balancing act of 60%Cabernet Sauvignon and 31%Merlot and 9% Shiraz. Very different to the 1996 Moss Wood had recently because of the Merlot in the blend. Good density and concentration. A class act. — 8 years ago

Lots of depth without being overly jammy. — 10 years ago
Elegant, smooth, flavoursome. Puts a quiet smile on your dial. — 10 years ago
Excellent balance, nice fruit, some complexity. Not sure of price. Loved it. — 10 years ago
I had the 2010 vintage... It was delicious. It needs some air (give or take 30 min) to get rid of a slight musty smell but even immediately after pouring it tastes amazingly balanced! Very round cab sav with tastes of blackberries and cassis and even some cheeky but very welcomed hint of soil. Perfect combination for my lamb. Will definitely try it again! — 10 years ago
Well if the 82 Bordeaux are proving amazing so is this Wynns 82; like it's cousins in the Medoc; very cabernet dominant; winemaker at the time John Wade, now a WA resident; had his first go at small barrique winemaking; now more cleverly used by Sue Hodder; current winemaker; this 13% wine still has the black fruit of correctly ripe cabernet; and the tannin draw and backbone which ticks my boxes; great drink from Coonawarra; wished more from that region show this way; the bar is set; 33 years later; #wynns #coonawarra #cabernet #1982 — 11 years ago
Always going to be the highlight of the Wynns tasting and only made in years where the fruit quality and vintage conditions were exceptional. Sue Hodder said everything fell into place in 2015 and she made one of her best ever Riddochs. From less than 1% of Wynns available Cabernet fruit. Latent power on nose and palate with black fruits and balanced oak. At least a 30 year future but so balanced you could happily drink this now but one should wait at least 10 years for its charms to start showing through. A brilliant 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. — 7 years ago
Very good — 8 years ago
Initial flavours - Blackberry, spice, mint, pencil shavings with a hint of chocolate. Decanted and left to breathe for a good couple of hours. BBQ'd some scotch fillet steaks and whacko, what a feast. The wine had mellowed significantly and blackberry flavours came to the fore over the spice and tannins. Cracking experience. Savoured every last drop. — 9 years ago
This guy still needs another couple years to age. And when you open it wouldn't hurt to decant. But it's got good legs for aging, which kinda makes me wish I had bought more than one. Or waited longer. Thick as you might want in a red and rife with cassis, dried bay leaf, vanilla and maybe violets. Strong tannins. Yeah...I thought it would be okay to have this 2010 now but it could use a year or so. Or it may just be an overpowering cab. I mean it is tasty but pretty overpowering! Right now. — 9 years ago
Another one that I would buy by the dozen. A really good wine. I'm always a big fan of any wine that tastes like caramel — 10 years ago
Crisp and apple tones perfect with a seafood board — 10 years ago
No 7 tasted Coonawarra Cab at the Tasting. The best of the inexpensive Cabernets IMO. Very balanced. Could be drunk now with great satisfaction or cellared for 5+ years. All the Cabernet descriptors apply. Loved it. — 10 years ago
Warm, spicy, aniseed with a slight peppery after taste. — 10 years ago
Nose layered with savoury herb. Nice ripe fruit, grippy tannin and an underlying savoury complexity. These few years have done a lot of good for its drinkability — 11 years ago
Always delivers - wish had more of this vintage — 12 years ago

In Langtons Outstanding category at the Classification tasting 16 weeks ago. Katnooks top Cuvée of their Cabernet from Coonawarra. Black currant and leafy but overshadowed by mocha oak IMO. — 7 years ago
