Not Bordeaux’s greatest vintage, however the wine was well cellared and served as a fun dive into Medoc with a friend who is passionate about the region.
Soft stewed fruit, but the wine was more so driven by an immediate rush of sweet milk chocolate on the nose upon opening / decanting. Structured, but palate was largely earth-driven with fallen leaves, wet earth, and iron. A wine that is clearly on the back 9, having its prime drinking window behind it. Fun wine to sip in the afternoon and enjoy a day off.

"Marie-Pierre's family has been making wine in the Macon since 1871 and her sustainable vineyards yield some really beautiful, terroir-driven white Burgundies of exceptional value. Excelent wine, fortunately mostly unknown thus the formula price/quality is one of the best in the market. Strong, with a powerful taste of grape and the intensity of personality that 7 years in barrell and bottle delivers. J'avais un peu peur du résultat mais finalement pour un vin qui ne doit se garder que 4 ans pas plus il a plutôt bien vieilli. Trop fort ce Saint-Antoine :). Agréable en bouche, tannique à souhait, doux et très bon retour, surtout sur fromage à pâte dure. Jolie robe par ailleurs. — 11 years ago
