Asher Winery Petite Syrah / Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot Blend 2012
Dark Ruby in color with a ruby / Purple Rim.
Fruity on the nose with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, Oak, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, earth, forest floor, eucalyptus and black pepper.
Full-bodied with nice legs and medium acidity.
Fruity on the palate with blackberries, cherries, Oak, blueberries, raisins, figs, licorice, Earth, chocolate, espresso and peppercorn.
Long finish with full, smooth tannins and black pepper.
This is a great red blend. Elegant and smooth and great by itself or with grilled meats.
Grapes were hand-picked and are from the Judea Hills, in Israel. From a very small Winery that produces around 2000 bottles a year. Needs at least 1 hour in a decanter to fully blossom.
I had it with the very hospitable winemakers, which only added to the experience.
