This is the oddball of Burgundies. There are a handful of vineyards within the appellation which can have the surname 'Le Chapitre' because they are better then the rest and it shows. This is a 50$ Bourgogne and it is stunning! Quite funky on the nose. Deep red. Slightly brown from oxidation. Coffee and bitter chocolate at the back. Nice tannins will last many more years! Some cedar box almost like a Bordeaux the next day. A. Petiprez is apparently crazy about natural wine making according to the chambers website. — 9 years ago
