Tropical with merange, light lime, guava, lychee, and grassy undertones - wet rock minerality and a round plush mouthfeel backed by lively acidity and a mouth watering finish — 5 years ago
Enjoyed this great Salmanazar for a good friends 50th — 6 years ago
Probably one of the better Chards from Gary Farrell. Buttah factor = 6.5. This wine has lots of honeysuckle on the nose. Getting some butter, but not as much as the palate would indicate. This wine is big on the front. Glycerine and butter initially but goes to honey and melon and a little mango. There was a semi tart to the back. Wine finishes a bit short and much more crisp than the front. Overall a very enjoyable chard. — 7 years ago

More Reserved and old world style of RRV Chardonnay than the opulent and butter driven styles we’ve come to expect. Best on day 2 and 3. — 4 years ago
More advanced than expected for its age. Sarsaparilla. Black cherry. I think I preferred it two years ago as a youngster. — 5 years ago

Mike Grgich, the “King of Chardonnay” farms w/o pesticides and certified organic. Aged 10 months and did not undergo malolactic fermentation. The color is a pale golden yellow with aromas of stone, tropical fruit and citrus. The palate shows off apple, melon and peach flavors, with some orange rind and nutty notes coming through. The finish was rich and creamy with some spicy mineral and perfumed tones lingering to a complex ending. Not your typical California Chardonnay, Grgich delivers like a few can! — 8 years ago
Bit thin and candyish on opening. Actually got better on day two. — 9 years ago

Was pretty unimpressed upon opening, but really came to life in an unexpected way the next day. Fresh leather, spiced cherry, star anise, sweet dirt, cedarwood, truffle, black licorice candy. Rich and long on the palate, with a bit of jamminess- from the Syrah undoubtedly. — 8 years ago
Dark cherry, "jammy" mouth feel. Mild tannins. Great mid week wine. — 9 years ago
