Almost on its way out but not bad — 8 years ago
Riojas have a distinctive aftertaste reminiscent of iodine which is characteristic of lines from Spain. This wine fights against that notoriety. It's evocative of red fruit but not overwhelming. It's balanced. And stays that way throughout the entire length of the taste. Paired with pork and Rosemary, brussels sprouts and kale salad. — 8 years ago
Great way to finish a tasting a nice champagne blend. Opens very well, in a beautiful pale salmon color. Chalk full of fruit fresh wild strawberries, pairs, apple, and lots of cherries. — 9 years ago
look: pale ruby red core with slightly garnet rim. medium viscosity.
smell: medium intensity aromas of roasted red bell pepper, allepo pepper flake, raspberry sauce, roasted jalapeno. overall, sweet and ripe fruit smells followed by slight iron-like gravel note.
taste: medium + acidity, nearly high acidity, medium - tannin, flavors of smoked tomato, sour cherry, ending with a note of sweet dried/roasted pepper.
profile: flavor is 'bursty' and drops out quickly and then hangs in a very subtle low way on the palate.
purchased with Somm Select. honestly, it could have cellared a few more years. — 9 years ago
This wine needed about 3 hours to release. Initially tight with uncomfortable medicinal nose which then totally dissipated. Drinking now next day and you get the age of fully integrated but not fading tannins. Nose has a delightful dark fruit and smokiness. Great fit of nose and taste, meaning - when tastes after smelling the experience is consistent and not jolting. I think the color purple in a subdued way. Very nice. Memo to self: decant and watch for sediment, and enjoy three hours later. — 7 years ago
Fall has finally arrived in Texas and no better way to enjoy it than sitting outside, watching football, grilling and drinking some amazing Champagne from one of my favorite Houses — 9 years ago
Still way too young...needs time to integrate the tannins! — 9 years ago
Beautiful, clean bubbly...nice citrus, long finish! What a way to toast the New Year!!! — 9 years ago
So me and Gary A... My Xavier brother from over 25 years back, in Coral Gables. Pizza and Tignanello... This 09' is young... So dry on the open, your cheeks get turned inside out... Fruit later on... My humble opinion, as good as the 96' not even close to 08' though... Still perfect way to start the weekend... — 10 years ago

What a way to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary - with a 25 year old cab! — 8 years ago
Exceptional. Bright, ripe fruit. Some earthy funk that eventually gave way to leather and herbal notes. Nice acid and tannic backbone holding things together. A beautiful wine in a great period of development. — 8 years ago
Nice way to ring in the new year! — 8 years ago
1985 Sassicaia. Second red wine at Redd Wood lunch w A, S, and K. This wine was perfect. Epic. We could not believe how perfect this wine was drinking. Thoroughly enjoyed it- it was enjoyable the way truffles are- hard to describe, but pleasing to all relevant senses. — 9 years ago
You obviously know what you're getting into with this one - tannin, tannin, and more tannin. Amazing structure, nice acid, if you're in the mood for one of the Napa big boys this isn't a bad way to do it. — 9 years ago
This wines opulent, brooding purple hue is accentuated with aromas of ripe black and purple penis, pleather and subtle hints of garlic bread. The palate displays a seamless integration of intense yet approachable homeless people that include year old shoe and urine soaked pants. A rich yet powerful chloroform feel marked by hints of passing out in the nearest bush give way to a sore arsehole. — 9 years ago
Nice way to enjoy Manhattan — 11 years ago

Label was very very new looking. Questionable as to real or not. Cork is correct. Wine us correct. On the way out but just won't leave. Brown to rust color. Better as it went on. Light fruit. Amazingly long Finish. Wow. — 7 years ago
