Big hype about this beer, as is "Hop Slam" this one much easy to get, in fact, in CA you can get in many places all the time, price is reasonable too, just check the bottled or canned on dates since it travels far, solid IPA, really nothing new or different, just done very well in the style, if you like your IPA's balanced between malt and hops, like Dogfish then this is perfect fit you, not for me, I prefer the hops be the "Show" but I am not knocking the Beer for that, just I think it is a little over rated — 9 years ago

One the best single IPA's in the world, Amarillo and Simco hops, that's all!!! But Awesome, Alpine one the best breweries in the USA, second only to Russian River, but the brewery does not get the just praise they truly deserve, Outstanding, my second favorite single IPA, Alpine's Nelson is first, only wish more people knew about this great beer and brewery — 10 years ago
1937 Lafaurie-Peyraguey: seventy-eight years had nothing on this still-fresh show-stopper. Lucid amber color, tangy marmalade-tinged flavor, medium-weight that is not tiring to drink at all. Threads the needle with perfect balance of honeyed intensity and bright acidity. One of the best #Sauternes ever to grace these lips. The perfect #wine when the wolves of life are howling outside your door. — 10 years ago
Great balance and when fresh bursting with "west coast" hop flavor. — 10 years ago
Med-deep amber color. Ultra appealing nose with loads of sweet honey, dried apricots, maple syrup, crushed almonds and a hint of wet stones. Med+ bodied, quite oily mouthfeel, very round and intense caramel, maple syrup and hint of smoky component. This wine attacks your entire palate in an attractive way. I like this a lot despite slight bitter finish. Paired perfect with chu toro (medium fatty tuna). 375 ml. 14.5% alc. 1989 vintage — 8 years ago
Simply delicious. Great balance of sourness and tart raspberry. — 9 years ago
Bière brune qui titre à 9.2. Mousse abondante, et petit arrière goût de caramel boisé. Pour moi, une de mes brunes favorites — 10 years ago

Tasted blind, from magnum. Old dark ruby color. Amber rims. Notes of black cherry, spice, earth and something like pencil lead. Ok in the mouth, refined, but lacking energy. With the meal this was enjoyable but was somewhat sleepy all night. Likely at peak and given the magnum format, it's time to drink up 750s. Guessed 62 Latour. — 7 years ago
