Amazing stuff... a pour from a friendly bar-tender rocked my world. Hand carried back from Italy, this elixir was bottled in the 70’s. Amazing complexity, light tan, not much viscosity... but the aroma!!! And the finish!!! Dust, rhubarb, olive juice, raisins, and the elusive smell of my great-grandmother’s dusty dry doilies that we’re starched to an almost flatness on the arms and backs of her living-room chairs. Have to find a bottle!! — 7 years ago

Not as sweet as Averno but not bitter either. Nice over ice or as a substitute for vermouth in a Manhattan — 5 years ago
