Delightful Syrah. Very fruit forward on the nose. The taste is nicely balanced, the fruit giving way to an unctuous flavor blend, pepper, leather, and bits of olive. The finish could be a bit longer. — 8 years ago
2014 vintage. Rounded fruit flavors of melon, poached pear, yellow apple, unripe pineapple, white flowers, little waxiness from the Roussanne. Nice little blend with different contributions from each component variety. — 9 years ago

Very good. Not to sweet, just the right bubble. — 10 years ago
2014 vintage.
Had this for the first time at the winery in Yakima late last year and was blown away by the freshness and quality of fruit. Lemon verbena and tropical fruit and petrol jump out of the glass and onto your palate. Dry, but with a midpalate roundness that makes it more interesting the more you drink it.
Also, the label looks like the Tower of Joy from "Game of Thrones". — 8 years ago
Great Washington Rhone blend. Another Owen Roe winner!!! Dark cherry and strawberry notes with chocolate and mint flavors in the finish. Well balanced and elegant. A dark wine to compliment a dark story. — 9 years ago

2008. Another dry cork, but delicious wine. Buy it if you can find it. — 9 years ago
Tasting with Alan & Maria Teresa at Bartolo Mascarello. To see the cantina in person, to learn the history and hear how ferociously it's being preserved - I am grateful for every sip I've had. And particularly this one.
One of the parcels (Ruè) was pretty much decimated by hail in 2012, so it is a much smaller component of the blend than typical. A seriously elegant wine. — 9 years ago
I love the dusty rose note I get from Owen Roe Syrah in the aromas and on the palate. I also get cocoa, sweet spices, and blackberry aromas. The texture is lovely. I'd like to hold onto this for a few more years, but it is juicy and tempting now! — 8 years ago
This cab Franc slightly gamey and smokey. Pepper on the palate with balanced tannins. 2012 — 9 years ago
Fantastic, if understated Sauv Blanc from the preeminent Waipara area of NZ! Starts very calm, but opens to a. Beautiful bouquet of citrus, vanilla, even kiwi and breadfruits - first taste was underwhelming . . . but just wait for this to open!! — 9 years ago
Blueberry and plum. Getting something vegetal/grassy too but can't make it out. Very enjoyable wine. — 9 years ago
