This is a very complex Champagne with earthy, nutty flavors and a hint of stone fruit. I'm looking forward to enjoying another evening trying to parse out its rich flavors. — 10 years ago

Dark berries, violets, forest floor and pepper leap from the glass. Blackberry bramble, leather, plum and roasted meat fills out the palate. The 2013 is still pretty tight - I'd say should really come into its prime in 2019-2020. — 9 years ago
Great taste; great price! — 9 years ago
Dixon family favorite. Works well with all wildfowl and King rib. — 10 years ago
Good Cote de Nuits Burgundy. A little alcohol on the nose. Starting to show well, but should carry on for a number of years, especially for a Village (old vines) wine. Very good with a leg of lamb and roasted potatoes. Served alongside the Les Roches, Chinon 2007, and was preferred by the men at the dinner. — 10 years ago

Getting to its prime, but still deeply saturated and concentrated, mineral-forward with graphite, tar, lit tobacco, blackberry compote, violet, black pepper, earth, bacon fat, licorice, and light barnyard. Mouth-filling, with a finish that sticks like a cigar. Paired unironically and exuberantly with a peppery, fatty smoked brisket sandwich which tasted much like this wine minus the fruit. 375 mL — 8 years ago
