Can smell more acidity, vanilla, raw oak, cream. In flavor, acid, oak and vanilla don't overly dominate, but later nicely in background. A light smokiness. AJ says it's slutty. Fruit is so sharp that I coughed a few times. Tastes expensive and it is. I prefer it over the Russian river valley Chardonnay. — 13 years ago

I tried the 2009 Pearce Maxwell's Cabernet tonight. This Cabernet blend has a nice bouquet of red fruits, tobacco leaf and earth. It is a deep dark velvety pleasure to drink. There are hints or BlackBerry, Oak and a touch of Cassas that hangs around like a warm memory. The tannins show themselves nicely in a lovely lingering finish.
