Worth the wait.Complex, big Rioja that begs for protein. A masculine ideal more on the lines of LdH's Bosconia than Tondonia. A delight! — 10 years ago
What can be said about d'Yquem can only be expressed in poetry, even in a modest vintage like 1998. It is an inner sanctum, a fragrant garden, a poignant release that is both profound and glorious. Descriptors cannot do it justice, sensual and honey-drenched layers of apricots, vanilla bean, creme brûlée and almond pastry. Viscous and glycerol-laden in the mouth, offset by dazzling acidity, dried fruit—quince, more apricots. A pure, honey-spun web of delight. I'm rambling, but d'Yquem does that. — 10 years ago

One of my faves. I ordered two half bottles - imagine my delight when I received two full bottles at the half bottle price. — 12 years ago
For centuries now, the luscious, bright, all-encompassing delight of Champagne has been used to toast happy occasions. Often times a decent bubbly does the trick, but other times, something grander deserves to be poured.
Dom Pérignon (named after the monk who put Champagne on the map), a 2000 vintage. It's the kind of Champs one drinks upon making the decision that wine is not just a hobby, not just a passion, but a career. — 9 years ago
Deceptively smooth with a bright finish.
Honestly, I grabbed this bottle off the shelf (along with 4 other random Cabs) in order to fill the new 6 bottle wine rack I was given as a birthday gift. I opened this one after sneaking out of the office early on a Friday afternoon. Wasn't really expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this Napa wine.
Goes well with the sushi lunch I had 3 hours prior. — 10 years ago

A delight. Deep with some minerality... tannic but not biting... very drinkable, but not boring at all. Managed to complement octopus with Calabrian chiles just as well as pappardelle with morels in butter sauce. Som. mentioned the fruit's soil had a volcanic ash to it. $70 at Babbo. — 10 years ago

Not as stunning as the 2000, but a delight to drink nonetheless. — 10 years ago
Crisp with hints of pear. Lovely Sunday afternoon drinker. — 10 years ago
Even though I looked for some Chenin Blanc or Pinot Gris for our ribs dinner this NZ summer delight did not disappoint. Light and crisp. — 11 years ago

A solid starter in the late afternoon. Strawberries, light berry. Not tremendous depth but not the purpose. Enjoy. Relax. — 9 years ago
