In appearance, I would have called this Napa as it had a deep purple rim but once you smelled it, it was South African through and through. Though I’ve only had a limited experience with SA wines, I’ve normally gotten a unique smell, reminiscent of smoked rubber. A lot of potpourri to this too. Black fruits (blackberries, cassis) with an herbal and tannic/slightly chalky finish. Well made. — 7 years ago

Flavorful, easy drinking, surprisingly good. — 9 years ago
Never been a big fan, wish I was. But they do a nice Cab Franc. OK, I have learned - let breath, even decant, for 2-3 hrs. The longer the better. It really was burn at first, but give it some time, and it really popped. Smooth, dark berries, touch of funk, a little earth, iron, leather - all the nice things you expect from a Cab. Next time I'll know better, and open sooner. — 9 years ago

A very nice South African blend for the price — 11 years ago
This is the best South African wine I've had. (Out of maybe 10 in my 18 yrs as a wine lover.) Very enjoyable. The alcohol is excessive on the nose but not in the mouth. — 11 years ago
Another great wine from this South African winery. — 12 years ago

Celebrating Bastille Day with the spring dinner of the Confrerie St Etienne of Alsace association. Wonderful menu and perfectly paired wines.
Wow. Leave it to the dessert wine to run away with Wine of the Night! Honeyed cashews, honeyed stone fruits, guava, pineapple, caramel and honeycomb. Like a lighter version of Dolce. Insanely good! On the hunt for some of this. Thought of you @Greg Ballington since it’s a South African wine! — 8 years ago

South African blend of mostly Rhône grapes. Similar nose to fuller Southern Rhône blend, perhaps Vacqueyras. Notes of blackberry, violet, black pepper, cocoa nibs. Dry, medium to full body on the palate. — 9 years ago
Cali style Sangiovese. Pretty well resolved at this point and drinking nicely. — 10 years ago
Rich and ripe, slightly oily texture, though lovely acidity. This is a great example of where the future of South African wine is headed — 10 years ago
