Wine 0️⃣6️⃣
Sassicaia 09 from Carlo Terruzzi
📝 We had to fight my wife to get any of this as she adored it 😎
Lovely rich deep cocoa driven dark fruits that showed awesome potential - drinking 4.5⭐️ but will be a stunning 5⭐️ in 5-7 years & my wife says 5⭐️ as her WOTN & it will be 5⭐️ in time 👍
Check others notes but I'm buying some (I've been ordered to 😂) & I even kissed (or licked) Carlo for this - thanks Carlo for sharing this & costing me a fortune 👅 — 8 years ago
Absolutely adored this wine. — 9 years ago
Tried this in napa and adored it. Drabk it solo for my 30th. Deep red/purple color. Full bodied, rich smoky tannins and a dry finish. Nose is smoke and cherries. Just lovely. Let aerate for an hour before drinking. Better the next day. — 9 years ago
Trophy bottle. Just the right amount of acid from the Sauvignon Blanc to balance the Semillon. I adored this. — 9 years ago
Absolutely adored this bottle of bubbles — 10 years ago
Good with cacio Pepe — 10 years ago
Adored this wine with marinated flank steak and chimichurri sauce. — 10 years ago
Adored this. Almost like Northern Rhone Syrah, smoke and violets and meat. Galicia in full force on the list at Aldea. — 11 years ago
Le Mont from the Premiere Côtes' stonier steeper slopes... Mineral -almost Savennieres like and adored for it — 12 years ago
Vintage 2010 - there are multiple reasons why I love #bourgueil let me explain. When I just discovered wine as a real passion - at the age of 18 - I adored the raspberry smell no other wine offered so generous. I like the name: Bourgueil is by far the most beautiful AOC name. My wife and I fell in love with the great dishes of Madame Debacker and the #Loire region on our honeymoon. This #cabernetfranc is deep black in the glass. It has character. Even at this age the wine shows a bit harshness, and an austerity that is found in Bordeaux often. But the raspberry and cherry smell reminds me of Cru de Beaujolais. It has also flint and mineral expression in smell, hints of leather, tobacco, clove. On the tongue it has a velvety structure. Bourgueil can be complex and frivolous at the same time. / Partnered it with Bavette from bbq and cauliflower mousse. — 7 years ago
We adored this wine when we first tried it at Phantom Forest in Knysna. We tried the 2014 which we loved. — 8 years ago
Very very smooth. Cherry and oak. Creamy with minimal tannins. Slight tobacco and vegetal notes. Slightly mineral? Delicious to sip but would also be great with food. Tim adored this wine. I loved it as well. Beautiful burgundy color with watery brown rim — 9 years ago
This is benchmark Brunello. I adored it. Transports me straight back to Montalcino. — 9 years ago
Passing out over this @SojournCellars #pinotnoir! @foodlasomm and I adored it! Stunning! — 10 years ago
I adored this wine! — 10 years ago
One of the few white wines I have adored. — 11 years ago
Adored this. Cushy, soft mineral with enough umph to keep it interesting and funky. Can’t wait to drink more of this. Drank this with guacamole, believe it or not. — 7 years ago
Liked it,loved it, adored it...beautiful wine in good company! — 8 years ago
I adored the peachy notes in this modest little number. Drank this on a balcony in Nice, France. It was heaven. — 8 years ago
Completely seamless and well structured. In a time where the frosting frequently is adored more than the cupcake, this one might get overlooked. Showed much more mid palate on the second day. Lovely. — 9 years ago
Soft bouquet, pale color, shallow but very pleasing palate. (Compared to my adored cabs and malbecs) — 10 years ago
The 98 drinks more like a Pinot now than the petit Syrah it was, although always it was a wine of greater subtlety and finesse than any petit Syrah I know. It's lighter than a Californian might be but in the Burgundian style it is probably tilting the scale toward fuller body, reflecting an American terroir within that style, or so I speculate. I have adored every stage of its maturation and it is hard for me to say when it gave the most. — 10 years ago
It takes a pretty incredible effort to make a #wine that is so impressive and lovely, yet still so young that everyone at the table unanimously adored it.
This even gives the epic 2012 a run for its money, which is saying something! — 10 years ago
"Sage, rosemary, menthol, dark plums, licorice and sweet tobacco meld together in the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum. Plush, round and inviting, the 2010 appears to have a very bright future ahead of it. The balance of sweet, layered fruit and the structure of the year is simply dazzling. I have always adored David Ramey's 2010 Cabernets. Today, they are dazzling."
- Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2014
Aging on fine lees incorporates the oak so that the two years the Annum spends in 100% new French barrels is barely noticeable. As with all of our wines, it goes through native yeast and malolactic fermentations. This wine combines the harmony produced by traditional Bordelaise winemaking techniques with the voluptuousness of Napa Valley terroir. It is lightly fined with egg whites and bottled without filtration. — 11 years ago
