Cantina Santa Maria La Palma

Aragosta Vermentino di Sardegna 2013

This one (2013) hits plenty of high points for me. Citrus, good acidity and consistent from start to finish. Great food wine. Well worth the price of admission. — 11 years ago

Domaine Jean-François Quénard

Vin de Savoie Chignin Jacquère

The spice and minerality on the nose are worth the price of admission.. Citrus and underlying chalk are also prevalent. Great palate, with citrus, spice, stone, kiwi and great acidity. Three bottles left, and wishing I had more.. 11.5 ABV btw, awesome. — 12 years ago

Monsecco

Gattinara Nebbiolo Blend 2006

Great Gattinara, Batman! Beau-tee-ful Nebbiolo. Hard to distinguish from a very good Barbaresco aside from slightly softer tannins. The perfume alone is worth the price of admission. — 13 years ago

Estate Bottled Blanc de Noir Nahe Pinot Noir 2013

Very very light in color. The palate has volume and is smooth. Straight forward direct press juice. A fun and unique cork dork white. The aromatics really open up closer to room temp. Watching people decipher the label vs. color is worth the price of admission. Stand alone white. — 11 years ago

The best way to explore the Grand Marques is from a close-out bin. Well worth that price of admission... — 13 years ago

La Crema

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2012

Used as a 'varietally correct' Pinot noir for an Intro to Food and Wine Pairing class. Cherry with bright vanillin in the nose. Slightly sweet in the nose, elegant and enticing. Hints of baking spice and bright pine sap. In the mouth the wine is bright and lively with good grip and bright acidity. Spot on and delish for the price of admission. — 12 years ago

Tondré Grapefield Pinot Noir 2010

A flashy new world style Pinot Noir, well worth the price of admission! Loads of toasted strawberry and finely knit tannins accompanying the deliciously long finish! Drink now and drink often!, I'm giving it 92 luscious points! — 13 years ago

Worst cork removing experience ever...but totally worth the price of admission. Powerful fruity nose erupts; gamey garnet. — 13 years ago

Flora Springs

Trilogy Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2003

A crowd pleaser. Flora Springs shows another "minor major" winner with this blend. Typical Napa fruit characteristics, but age has settled well on this wine giving it elegance but without losing too much fruit. Fine tannins are understated for a Napa blend but it is still well-balanced. Perhaps not as transcendent as some of the bigger players, but well worth the price of admission and a fine wine in its own right. Drink now - 2019. — 13 years ago
