A dang good Malbec. — 7 years ago
This is the most picturesque Chateau in Bordeaux. Oh...and they make a pretty amazing Bordeaux. It's a good first look at the 03 vintage from my five bottle set. There are steak wines and then there are steak wines. This was a 10 pair with the T-bone...Heaven. The tannins have softened but have many years ahead to get to that perfect place. The mouthfeel is full, round, creamy and elegant. The fruits have a not too sweet liqueur style. They are; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, plum, sweet tobacco leaf, anise, used leather, black tea, used coffee grounds, rich wet black turned earth, stones, dry red florals, spice; clove, nutmeg, baking spices; very light vanilla, touch of caramel, dark chocolate and acidity that pours over the palate. There is the start of harmony in the structure, length, balance and tension. The finish lasts a full two-minutes and it crushed with the T-bone. Next bottle in 5-7 years. For the legions of you on Delectable crushing only young Napa Cabernet, you have no idea what you're missing in aged Bordeaux...forget about it...even vs. well aged Napa Cabernet. Respect!!! 3-4 hour decant and it needed every second of it. — 8 years ago

2012 was incredibly great, as always from TSG, but not the best we've had from them. Get La Difese for 2012 for 1/5 the price. — 9 years ago
2006 vintage. At 34 with a hamburger. Deep ruby hue. Coffee bean, leather and earth. Blackberry (ripe), cassis. Hints of manure. On the palate, good concentration, medium plus tannins - chunky. Medium plus acidity and full bodied. Medium plus alcohol and finish. Decent fare which is drinking well now but can keep for another 5-10 years. — 10 years ago
NYC for my 35th and this was firing on all cylinders. Extremely dark in color, massive nose and the palate showed everything good about classic Latour. This liked and tasted like an 80's wine, so youthful and surprisingly no sediment in the bottle. Easily a top 5 wine this year. — 11 years ago
Very tasty old vine Zin! Smooth and is it, “fruit-forward”, yes that is it. — 4 years ago
Drinking well, from half bottle. No rush, probably has at least 5 yrs. — 6 years ago
Red fruit has never been as regal. The visual experience is bathed in red elegance. A hint of licorice in the nose, followed by an explosion of berries all over the place, and then the most beautiful silk as it fades into a long, subtle farewell. A beautiful surprise every time. — 7 years ago
Sour red cherries, wild strawberry, horse shit, mushrooms. Wild acidity. Years ahead of it. Fresh. Vital. — 8 years ago
Drinking phenomenally well. This is going to be fabulous in 5-7 years. Air helps now, give it an hour to open. — 8 years ago
(17/20) Ароматы абрикосового конфитюра, апельсиновой цедры, лимонного мармелада. Полусладкое с относительно высоким уровнем кислотности. Достаточно лёгкое и сбалансированное десертное вино. — 9 years ago
A monster of a wine! This takes me back to all of the wonders of our last Paso trip. Merry Christmas, you filthy animals!!! — 9 years ago
First time trying an old Felton Road and a Block 5 courtesy of Can. Forest floor, some black fruits. Great concentration with depth and intensity of flavour. Good length but never felt over-blown or heavy. Shows why this wine is an icon. 94 points — 10 years ago

Solidly good Bordeaux Cabernet forward blend. Great value. — 4 years ago
Yellow delicious apple and white peach. Very honeyed as well. This is exactly how I like my morning granola. It's been twenty years since I've been to Hungary. This is a great reminder that I've got to get back. — 5 years ago
I plowed through a spicy sausage stuffed green pepper with this as a companion. Floral notes and an exotic sandlewood flavor. Finish was thin, but I'm not complaining — 8 years ago
2014 a little soon, but couldn't wait to try for 5 more years — 8 years ago
the best wine made in my home valley. It uses the same process as Amarone but it is smoother and fresher without loosing complex structure and strong cherry and caramel — 8 years ago
Fruity Bold Plum Flavor Not for Nancy — 9 years ago
Tried côte à côte with the Gruaud Larose 375ml, this was a little one dimensional, primary fruit, showing more oak, think it needs another 5 years. — 9 years ago
Deep and complex with focused blue fruit, garrigue, stony and almost smoky. Beautiful complexity and definitely showing some secondary notes, but the acidity (at least of this bottle) was pretty high still and didn't start to integrate until 4 hours in the decanter. Plenty of life left to hold onto bottles for 5-10 years. — 9 years ago
This is the 1985 Napa Cab and was tasted out of 5 liter. This wine was excellent! Herbal notes with a touch of saddle. I was so surprised by how much red fruit was on the pallet with a wine this old! Amazing! — 10 years ago
One of top 5 champagne's in the world and it tastes good — 11 years ago
Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego
1986 vintage. Sampled 5 bottles for a BDX dinner at Mister A's-San Diego. Double decanted and tasted through 5 hours. Rustic and chunky. Zero finesse but it's Montrose. Can hold steady at this quality for another 7-8 years easy. 3.14.24. — a year ago
