Tart Apple flavors followed by long sour marionberry finish. Some berry rasp tannin astringency on finish. Excellent fruit profile overall, lactic aftertaste. A go-to red for me from the Douro DO of Portugal. Benefits from a 2-hour decant. Comes in at only $8. The winery name, Vila Regia, means "royal town", and was a designation given to towns founded by the Kings of Portugal.
