Initial aromas of strong mushroom, also light blackberry with sage, balanced fruit and alcohol. Hints of dry yeast, medium vanilla and a slight bit of roasted plum, perhaps black pepper but not spicy... So granite? The combination of fruit forward with fungal qualities is pretty interesting. — 9 years ago

This is my second tasting notes ever. Aroma is 7/10 fruity like a lot of Cali zin, combined with sweet new Cali oak vanilla to provide a heavy fruit nose overall. However, the flavor argues against the oak, lacking any cover-up plastic taste. Was this only aged in new oak for a few months before bottling? Kinda reminds me of dry hopping beer, as it has the aroma without a strong vanilla oak flavor. Medium-high body with a hint of sugar/caramel but low viscosity. Absolutely no meniscus qualities to be seen at all. Would drink again, recommend with highly contrasting foods like cheese or creamy pasta, but not a big winner overall — 9 years ago

Node has a medium balance between fruit and acid with a little mineralogy. Taste is fairly fruit forward, medium dry and medium flint or gunpowder tannin contribution. Hint of spice, medium body. Sweet finish, medium viscosity. Overall this is enjoyable because of its fairly raspberry-like fruit forwardness combined with a fairly balanced tannin and acid flavors, but isn't spectacular by any means. — 9 years ago
