Clear and light in colour, ruby strawberry red. Nose is clean, fruity, strawberry and floral notes. Light body, low tannins and medium to high acidity, again fruity notes like strawberry, cassis and floral violette. Short finish. Elegant feminine easy drinking wine. Dark, full bodied. On the nose a lot of plums, dark raisin, dark cocoa, nutmeg, clove, a lot of oaky characteristics. Palate is chocolatey, smokey, prunes. Velvety, full bodied, perfect wine for Christmas and big meat dishes. A lot of alcohol. — 9 years ago

Clear, strong hints of brown, almost tawny, very deep colour. On the nose you get cooked and dried fruit (raisin, prune), forest floor, off plum and oxidative aromas. High tannins and medium acidity with a velvety silky body. Again you get the cooked and dried fruit on the palate, slightly woody. Long finish. Paid £30 at Oddbins. — 10 years ago

Very deep ruby red and clear. Ripe plum, lots of oak, dark fruit on the nose. The palate is silky smooth and full bodied, mouth watering, delicious. High, balanced tannin, medium to high acidity. A bit of spice, wood, dark prunes, velvety mousse. An absolutely gorgeous wine for that price. Get to it! — 10 years ago
