This was impressive, and definitely more intriguing than the '76. A much deeper funk to the aromas, not so much fruit here as a singed gaminess; think crispy skin over an open fire. Classic mature riesling apple flavors on the palate, not unlike the '76, except here it's much more focused and acute. This checks off all the boxes - richness and precision with plenty complex flavors too.
