As often when the temperature rises and the days are getting longer I have a German Riesling itch. Conveniently my wife was on a business trip in Germany this week and brought back some bottles for us. The nose shows chalk, lemon, lemon zest and a bit of a petroly touch. The palate, as expected, shows a massive acid drive, making it a very fresh, almost electric wine with a superb tension. Lemon curd and lemon zest notes blossom all along, it’s almost that lemon meringue pie that I crave from back home all year long (if you haven't tried it yet, look for it, it's divine). The finish is fresh, long lasting, focused and gentle with these lemon curd notes. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be that I would have loved even more tension. Good stuff though.
