Villa Wolf
Ernst Loosen Pfalz Pinot Gris

Think this is my first German Pinot Gris. Started flat but got better with air (and as it warmed). A solid, but not memorable, drink.

Peach and pear and floral notes on the nose. Nice bright acidity and fruit on the palate. 15% Pinot Blanc.

Lots of acid. Dryish with a little fruit.

Low aromatic intensity. Green apple, white pepper. The palate bristles with acidity. Underripe pineapple, more green apple, lemon juice, and some mineral persists for a moment. Pretty interesting for under 10$

Good low budget pinot gris, and cool that it’s a German one which isn’t common. 15% Pinot Blanc too. Mild aromas, quite floral. White peach and under-ripened pear. Plenty on the inside, though, with highlights of green apple, and under-ripe pineapple alongside a strong mineral quality. Lemon zest finished it off.

Weirdly sweet for a Pinot gris… not what I was expecting, will not get it again

Leans more towards Riesling than Pinot Gris. Touch o' pear and bottled with a tickle of spritz to enhance the fresh feeling. Good value for the money
