'98 vintage. What a beauty! A true ballet dancer, this wine is an absolute jewel of delicacy, elegance and grace. The purity of the nose is of epic proportions with beautiful red berries, black tea and light touches of anis. After an hour or so, spices emerge from the glass, cedar, incense and light camphor (or warm eucalyptus). Mouthfeel is delicious as well, full of balance, bright acidity and a persistent ripe black cherry flavor. I loved this wine! A true foodie wine!

Rich, tons of cherries but also tannins and acidity suggesting long life ahead of it. This was for 2006 vintage.

2008. To be honest I was expecting this to be a bit more of an upgrade over the Savignys than it turned out to be, but it is also playing pretty close to the vest so maybe the grand cru class will come out later (much later). It does feel more marked by the oak than the Savignys here; there is a lot of old spicebox/antique cabinet woodiness here.
