Was this a Rhône blend in a previous vintage, or was I rating another wine? Perhaps the varietals change from year to year, so long as it represents “one valley”, i.e. Walla Walla. Regardless, this vintage is a nice Bordeaux style blend, 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Good stuff! It’s a big wine with balanced acidity. I enjoyed this as a cocktail wine. The mouthfeel is rich and thick, but not cloying. The use of oak is admirably restrained. It appreciated in flavor after some decanting.
