Damn respectable! Might move to my short list of "guest wines". If you come to my house and you love wine, you will get the best of what I have. If you come to my house and can't at least identify the region, grape, or color, then you get something on par with this.

2013 vintage. No meal in mind when I bought it. Drank it w/out a meal actually. Starts smooth, ends on bitter notes (but not bad). Will taste great with added blueberries. Will buy again.

As we all know I’m a sucker for all things Rioja but when a particularly good one comes around it’s especiallly great to rave a little. The ‘13 is really two wines; the first is a fairly tight but complex wine with not too much fruit and good wood that opens up quickly and takes on a much deeper and blackberry/leather character that really finishes well.
