Another week of 190X, another spectacular Cab from a legendary California wine maker. Lots of great red an black fruit, a hint of green, coconut, toasted oak, not overripe but totally delicious and well integrated wine. #UCDavis

Out of a split. I blew it in not giving it proper decanting time. Probably be a bit higher if I did. Was delicious after time paired with prime rib.

This one just kind of fell out of the cellar. Sorry Shay. In a really, really nice place. Mature black cherry and some graphite. Very full bodied. Acidic opening. Aged black fruit in just the right spot. Hint of herb and tobacco. Quite nice. Finish has some tannin which is starting to drop off, but overall the structure of this wine still very much leans to the youthful side. This wine is singing. 72% cab with the balance Merlot.

Thrilled to finally try this legend of a wine. This has all of the calling cards of big Cali cabs- plum, currant, eucalyptus, herbs, cedar - with an incredible balance of acid and velvety tannin, and only 13.3% alcohol. Long complex finish, super drinkable, but with some edge. Drank with a peppery hanger steak.
