Quivet Cellars
Hulda Block Las Madres Vineyard Syrah

Profoundly elegant. Perfectly toes the line between new and old world. I literally asked why I don't just drink this every time!!! So so good.

Fantastic, as this wine almost always is. Does need a little air

Nose is a little closed but there is some violet and gamey stuff going on. Dark black cherry, blue fruits, acid at first. Subtle gamey And umami notes emerged later.

Perhaps the finest young @Mike Smith Syrah I have ever had. The nose was like stepping into an old Italian delicatessen. Dark blue fruits on the palate. This lacked some of the Olive characteristics I’ve become accustomed to. Great finish.

My favorite part of this wine is the nose. Complex aromas of cured meats, bacon fat and soy sauce with a hint of violets on the tail. Blue fruit, red currants and pepper on the palate. The most approachable at this early age of the three vineyard designates from Quivet.
