'Crasto' Douro Red Blend

Drank at Ramiro Restaurant in Lisbon. Easy on the wallet and amazing seafood.

Deep purple; medium plus intensity aromas of ripe black plum, blackberry, blueberry, bramble, clove, chocolate; dry, high acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors of blueberry jam, chocolate, vanilla, clove; medium finish

Dark plum color. A hearty nose. Cherry and some tar. Flavor is rich and elegant. Bit of cassis. Licorice. Lovely. Deep. Classic Douro.

Big body, strong tannins yet well rounded. Plum, berry with a dusty, leathery finish. I drank it with Mushroom Ragu over soft polenta; it worked really well by toning down the sweetness of the dish.

This was an excellent pairing with our lamb and beef while visiting Norway.

Highly Drinkable

Fruity dry and smooth. All time!

Full bodied, complex wine. Lots to discover with red/black berries to start, followed by cocoa and maybe a hint of leather. Tasted paired with chocolate which is a delicious combination.
