A brooding Chianti if I ever. Morello cherries, muddy underbrush, and tar on the nose. Burnt orange peel.
Meaty on the palate, bright acidity and tannins in balance. Benefited as August has shown with reds from my basement racks that after opening, a dip in ice water( minimal) helps a great deal. Med. body, there’s a woodiness to the palate that is interesting. Scalette says all cement last I read so… less fruit dominant on the palate than savory. Nice. With Jamie Oliver’s Eggplant Parm( sorry, Jamie, Marcella’s basic tomato sauce still wins the day)quite excellent.
With Randy.
Thanks @Courtierwines
