2017 opened July 2022. This has to rank as one of the most boring wines I’ve ever imbibed. Nothing much happening here. Faint whiff of briars on the nose. Slight mineral notes on the front of the palate. Tannins are smooth and velvety with a light density, but I might as well be drinking cotton, because there’s nothing that plays on top of these tannins. Short finish, in fact it’s done by the time you swallow. Tastes like it’s a Rhone that’s been watered down 50%. No, I’m not claiming the winemaker did this! But this is a wine without any character.
