I much prefer the Jolie Laide version of this wine, which is prettier, and quite special as far as California oddball wines go. This feels more rustic and tannic. A bit heavier, earthy. Riper? Longer maceration? Enjoyable but doesn’t match up. If you’re drinking Pax, stick with the Syrahs which are killer
