Deep and dark purplish red, completely coats the glass. Layered nose even from the attack with iron, dark berries, black currants and tight baking spices. After an hour or so it opened up with blueberries, herbs and more cinnamon. Heavy and oaky tannins (8/10) with a full body. Tight to start on the palate with iron, dark bitter cocoa, dark red berries and slate too. Long and lingering finish. Needs around a two hour decant to open up nicely. Drink from 2018 till 2034.

Done right good juice. Chris Carpenter makes great wine. Full mouth feel with long finish. Dark fruit and cocoa dominate the pallet. Great tannin structure. Would go for another decade plus

V13. Very good. Rich long lasting. Tobacco and cedar nose. Fresh black currant fruit. Deep, long, tight, belt leather finish . Well balanced.
