Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend

A fruit-driven and easy-going Amarone that is neither too dried grape in character nor overly dry.

Delicious. Rich and well balanced. Soft on the tongue. Goes well with mild cheese.

Dark and dense and very dry and dusty.

Starting Christmas Holidays with takeout and a Masi. Dark fruit and leather in the nose!

In my pantheon of Amarone, this doesn't rate too highly. Dark ruby to purple in color, smoky sulfur nose absent much fruit, sweet attack (15% as evidenced by ample sheeting down the glass), subdued fruit is at dark plum/dark berry, medium grip, medium+ acid, slightly chewy, persistent finish. I expect a lot more from Amarone. Not a lot of complexity, depth, or richness.

Full bodied with cocoa notes. Lovely supple tannins even only for the 2010 vintage. Would like to try this in a few years time. Love the Amarone style.

Sure its well made, but still too forward and high in alcohol for me.
