Deep ruby with concentrated black fruit aromas nearly overwhelmed by a substantial amount of new oak. Blackberry, cassis, black cherry, vanilla, cedar, pencil lead. In the mouth, the wine is out of balance, dominated by oak, clove and cedar. Surprisingly little tertiary character. This highly extracted wine suffers a bit from only medium acidity and the high tannins are a little green. The fruit is attractive, but it’s very hard to get to, leaving the wine less enjoyable than it should be.

Smooth but not quite impressive. It was very good with a tea and tar taste being the most pronounced followed by a mellow sweetness.
