Lavau
Gigondas Red Rhône Blend

This was pretty tasty for 14.5%. Total insecurity and foolishness to post the Wine Spectator score on the back label. Come on :-)

Still drinking well. Much softer than last time, good balance despite alcohol at 14.5%.

Dark ruby color with very nice aromas and flavors of red cherry, blackberry, and slight spicy of sweet herbs on the nose and palate. Medium-to-full-bodied, solid texture, meaty & smooth tannins, and end nicely with moderate length. Like it & drink again on October 19, 2016.

Would rate higher if it had a longer finish. Decanted for one hour, warm milk chocolate, black fruit. Herbal finish with a touch of wood.

Opened up nicely over 2 hours. Violets, Asian spices, and minerality on the nose. Well rounded effort with notes of plums, tobacco, spice box, with a slight vanilla creaminess. Plums carryover on a soft finish that lasts.
